Acne and reduction of scars

Have the skin you always wanted
Acne is a common problem for most adolescents and the young adult population. Severe forms of acne can cause scarring. In addition to scars, acne can also leave psychological consequences – reduced self-confidence and depression.

What is acne and what are the causes of it?

Acne is an inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles that arises as a consequence of closing their outlets. The condition is also worsen by the presence of mites, yeasts and bacteria. The most striking indication of acne is the appearance of red, swollen scabs on the skin that can swallow. Inside the pores are the glands that produce a sebum – it helps to prevent skin dryness.

Acne is located in areas of the skin with the highest follicular density – on the face, shoulders, upper chest and back.

It is not entirely clear why some people suffer from acne and others do not. Major causes include heredity, stress, hormonal activity (menstrual cycle, puberty), mechanical skin irritation, use of anabolic preparations (muscle building agents, male sex hormone) and other drugs (barbiturates, lithium-containing drugs, amphetamine, etc.). As well some hormones are associated with the acne appearance.

Hormonal imbalance can cause these sebaceous glands to react abnormally, they grow and increase the sebum production. Excessive sebum mixes with dead skin cells, blocking the pores, sealing sebum and bacteria inside. This clogging causes swelling, resulting in acne called comedones or lice, pimples, spots and white heads.

How does acne scars?

The stagnation of sebaceous glands secretion results in their damage and causes deep inflammation resulting in scarring. People often push, scrape the buds. It can damage the skin layers and cause more inflammation, which can also lead to scarring afterwards. In severe cases, scarring is permanent.

Treatment

For the treatment of active acne, lasers can safely penetrate into the optimum depth of skin layers and prevent excessive activity of sebaceous glands. By using controlled thermal effects, the function of these glands is greatly reduced and sebum level on the skin returns to normal levels.
Laser acne treatment also accelerates the healing process by stimulating collagen in the skin, leading to its recovery and regeneration. This helps the skin become smooth and reduces the effects of scarring after acne.
